  1. The keypad on my Home Alarm System isn’t lit up, is that a problem?
Probably not, most problems are easy to fix with little or no out of pocket expense to you. Many times the Alarm System simply needs to be powered up or have a new battery installed.
  2. Can you work on my type of Home Alarm System?
Our trained technicians work on just about any Burglar Alarm out there. We monitor dozens of different types of Alarm Systems from twenty years old to brand new Alarm Systems.
  3. How does the Alarm Monitoring work?
Your Home Alarm System is monitored 24-hours a day, 7-days a week by our U.L. approved monitoring station. If your Alarm System is armed then we receive a signal via your phone line if any of the zones are breached. When we receive the signal from your Home Alarm System, we call you first to see if it may have been a false alarm. If you don’t answer the phone or don’t give the correct password then we proceed to call the local police or guard response for dispatch, which ever is available in your area. Then we call all of the numbers on your emergency notification list to inform the people on the list that there has been a Burglar Alarm signal received from your Home Alarm. Additionally, your keypad most likely has panic buttons for police, fire and medical emergencies that can be pressed whether your Security System is armed or not. In this case no phone call is made, we simply call the proper authorities since it is an emergency situation. (note: Some dispatch procedures may vary from city to city depending on the regulations set by the various authorities that service your area.)
  4. Should I test my Home Alarm System regularly?
Yes. We recommend testing your Home Alarm System weekly to monthly. We will respond if we receive a signal from your Home Alarm System. However, there are various things that can effect the operation of your Security System that are beyond our control and that are your responsibility to check. Some examples are; not arming your system, changing your phone number, getting a second line, hooking up internet service, switching to VOIP, having other work done on your home that effects the Home Security Systems ability to work properly.
  5. How do I go about testing my Home Alarm System?
Simply call our 24-hour central monitoring station 561-565-1999 and tell us that you want to put your Alarm System in test mode for the next hour. Then, simply arm your Security System and wait two minutes for it to activate. Next set off some or all of the zones and wait thirty seconds and then enter your code to turn off the Alarm System. After you have done that just call the central monitoring station and ask which signals we received. The monitoring station operator should be able to tell you exactly which zones were breached. Remember to allow your Alarm System enough time to activate. Additionally, some Home Alarm Systems have what is called a fail-safe that makes the assumption that the Alarm was an accident if you turn off the Alarm System too quickly. That is why you should wait thirty seconds before entering you code to turn off your Home Alarm System.
  6. How long has Pringle Security been in business?

  8. How long will it take to set up my Alarm System?
If you have an existing Home Alarm or Business Alarm System then set-up usually takes about an hour. If you need a new Alarm System then basic installation is three to five hours.
  9. Will my Home Alarm System be affected if I have a pet?
If you have a pet we can install a pet friendly motion detector if you don’t already have one. In most cases the pet will not be a problem for the Security System. Tell a Pringle representative and they can double check for you by asking a few simple questions.
Recent improvements  led to the development of "Pet-immune" or "Pet-friendly" motion detectors. These detectors will actually ignore up to an 80lb dog or five cats!

  12. The keypad on my Home Alarm System beeps all the time. Can that be fixed?
Yes. A beeping keypad on your Home Alarm System is an indication of a trouble condition. Most of the time these are simple situations to fix and can be fixed for little or no cost to you during your initial set up.
  13. Is there anything different about your Alarm Systems or Monitoring?
Almost every type of home alarm system made works in essentially the same exact way. All send signals to a monitoring station and perform the same basic functions. The main difference from one security company to another is simply the cost and quality of service. Having said that, service at Pringle is fantastic.
  14. What if there is a power failure at my place?
You don’t have to worry. Our Home Security Systems come with a 24-hour battery back up so that your home or office stays secured even in case of a power failure.
  15. Can you add on to my existing Home Alarm System?
Most Home Alarm Systems can be added onto very easily. Simply let the Pringle representative know if you want to add a door, window, motion detector, glass break, smoke detector etc… to your Burglar Alarm. We have very competitive pricing for add-ons and upgrades.
  16. Why Doesn't my phone work immediately after an alarm?
When the alarm is activated , this device automatically cuts off the phone service on the alarm line and use it for transmission of the alarm signal , releasing the line when the message is completed .
  17. When is the time to update my alarm system?
If your alarm system is more than five years old, now is the time to consider upgrading or updating the equipment.
  18. When is the time to replace the backup battery?
The backup battery in the control panel should be changed every three to five years, (the battery condition is monitored at the Central Station). Wireless transmitter batteries last five to seven years, and are lithium batteries that can be purchased in almost any drug store. Security Systems monitor the status of the batteries and should a battery become weak, the Central Station will notify you.
  19. Can I be notified when my system is armed or disarmed?
You can receive Opening / Closing reports on a monthly basis for an additional monitoring fee (Each time the alarm system is armed or disarmed special codes are send to the monitoring station which record the time and by whom the system was armed or disarmed). Some systems have the ability to call a pager and notify you when a particular user arms or disarms the system, or to auto arm or auto disarm at a programmed time.
  20. Can I use the system when I go to bed, at night?
The "Stay" and "Instant" modes give you the freedom of arming the perimeter of your system (the doors and windows), while ignoring the interior protection (motion detectors and interior doors).
  21. Can I get a discount from the insurance company?
Yes, Most insurance companies do offer an insurance discount. The amount of homeowner's insurance discount depends on your carrier.
